প্রভু তোমার আমার প্রথম দেখা
কোন সায়রতীরে
ভুলে' গেছি তিথি তারিখ
ভুলে' গেছি দেখার নিরিখ
মনে আছে ভালবাসা
দিয়ে দিলে ভরে'

ঊষার আলোয় এসেছিলে
শিশির-ধোয়া চরণ ফেলে'
রক্তিমাভায় শুক্তি মাঝে
মুক্তাদ্যুতি 'পরে

চাইলে যেতে মোরে ফেলে'
সন্ধ্যারাগের রঙ্‌ মশালে
দিইনি যেতে রেখেছি চিতে
অনন্তকাল ধরে'

Translation

Lord, our first meet, Yours and mine,
It was on what seashore?
I've forgot lunar day, time of month;
I've forgotten vision's cost.
Fondness was inside the mind;
Thereby You made replete.

By light of dawn You had appeared,
Letting fall dew-washed feet,
Like reddish glow amid abalone,
'Pon a pearl's splendid beauty.

You wished to go, quitting me,
Like a colored flambeau of gloaming.
In mind I've kept, did not grant leave,
Having grasped eternity.
