Bhálabesechi mane práńe

কী দোষ করেছি বল না
কেন আমার ঘরে এলে না
ভালবেসেছি মনে প্রাণে
জেনেও কি তাও জান না

বৃথা হল মালা গাঁথা
বৃথাই সাধের সুর যে সাধা
স্মৃতি নিয়ে হাসা-কাঁদা
এঁকে' মুছি কি আল্পনা

মনদেউলে দেখেছি
তোমার রঙে রাঙা হয়েছি
তোমার গানে নাচে মেতেছি
তাইতো দূরে থাকা সহে না

Translation

Pray tell, what sin have I committed;
My home, why did You not visit?
I have loved with mind and heart;
Though known, that too, don't You know it?

Threading a garland became futile;
Utterly useless was the tune practiced.
Mem'ry is with tears and laughter;
The alpana painted, do I abolish?

I have witnessed in the shrine of mind;
By Your dye I've become bright.
In Your song and dance, become rapt have I;
Hence, staying away is not tolerated.
