দেখেছি ঊষাতে অরুণ আলোতে
পারেনি বাঁধিতে ফুলডোর

বর্ণে বর্ণে ফুল ফুটে' আছে
তোমার প্রণয় মধুরিমা যাচে
ক্ষণিকের তরে এসে' কিছু কাছে
চলে' গেলে ভুলে' আঁখিলোর

পশ্চিমে হেলে' রক্তিমাভায়
মন তখনও ধরে' রাখিতে চায়
দিগ্বলয়ে তমঃ সন্ধ্যায়
লুকোলে পাঠালে ঘুমঘোর

Translation

Why far away are You, my Darling?
I have seen at break of day, neath light-rays crimson:
It was not possible to tie a floral string.

Blossomed are flowers in many colors;
They entreat sweetness, beg Your affection.
Having come a bit close for a second,
You disappeared, forgetting tears.

With a reddish glow leaning toward west,
The mind would keep holding still then.
At evening on horizon is the darkness;
You did send from hiding a deep sleep.
